Ferndale Cub Scout Pack 4026 has seen to it that forty Ferndale area families will enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal this year. The Pack worked with Ferndale School District Family Community Coordinators to distribute complete holiday meals to families who applied for the service.

Scouts and their families spent several weeks collecting the necessary supplies. Baskets used to deliver the meals were assembled at Whatcom New Life Assembly which donated the space for the effort. Items in the baskets included stuffing, gravy, sparkling cider, green beans, cranberry sauce, fresh potatoes, turkey, roasting pan and cheesecake.

In addition to items donated by the Scout families, donations were made by

    • Ferndale Grocery Outlet
    • Blaine Cost Cutter
    • Chuckanut Bay Foods
    • Franz Bakery
    • Ferndale Lions Club (the Pack’s Charter Organization)
    • Western Box

Food donations beyond what was needed for the baskets will be donated to the Ferndale Food Bank.

According to a press release, Ferndale Cub Scout Pack 4026 has been in operation and serving the Ferndale community for 67 years. Upcoming events include caroling for the residents of Louisa House in December and the annual Christmas Tree pickup to be held on January 9th, 2016.
