Officials with the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) announced recreational halibut fishing will be extended 6 additional fishing days in Marine Areas 5 through 10. The 6 additional fishing days added are
- Thursday, May 30
- Saturday June 1
- Thursday, June 13
- Saturday, June 15
- Thursday, June 27
- Saturday, June 29.
WDFW officials say the higher 2019 sport halibut quota combined with lower catch numbers during the early season is the reason for more sport halibut fishing days than were initially anticipated.
Ling and Pacific cod restrictions remain in effect. It is not lawful to retain ling cod or Pacific cod seaward of 120 feet on halibut days in Marine Areas 6 through 10.
