According to a news release from the Whatcom County Fire Marshal’s Office today, the burn ban in place since June 29th will be lifted effective 8am tomorrow, September 4th.
The burn ban will be lifted at 8:00 AM on Friday, September 4th, 2015 for the unincorporated areas of Whatcom County. At that time, verbal burn permits will be available via the Burn Information Line. Written burn permits for fires larger than 4’ X 4’ will be available at the Planning & Development Services Office beginning at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, September 8th.
The announcement follows the recent lifting of the restriction on campfires (aka recreational fires).
Residents in the Ferndale city limits are to follow the permanent Washington State burn ban that permanently prohibits land-clearing and residential burning of yard clippings and other vegetative debris in the city and adjacent urban growth areas.
