
This morning a Ferndale Police officer came across several mailboxes on the ground surrounded by what appeared to be debris from a vehicle.
Returning from a false alarm at Horizon Middle School, a Ferndale Police officer came upon a flattened mailbox stand along with several mailboxes on the ground in the 6000 block of Church Road.
Several mailboxes and their metal loop stand were laying flat on the sidewalk. Around them lay broken pieces of plastic debris normally found on vehicles could be seen. According to police radio transmissions, no one had yet reported the incident.
The mailbox stand was returned to its upright position for the time being.
A neighbor whose mailbox was one of those damaged told Discover Ferndale the mailboxes had also been damaged a few days earlier but not to this extent.

A neighbor confirmed this was a vehicle accident and the person responsible notified police and post office officials as well as impacted neighbors.
