A man working with a chainsaw in a Sandy Point Heights neighborhood was injured this morning and required transport to the hospital.
According to Whatcom Fire District 17 Fire Chief Jim Petrie, emergency medical technicians responded about 9:30am this morning to an address on Shaw Court due to a report of a chainsaw accident. A male suffered a severe arm laceration and was transported to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center by Ferndale paramedics Petrie said.
Lummi Police arrived on the scene first and applied a tourniquet to the man’s arm. They were told this may have saved his life.
No information about the man’s identity or injuries were available due to privacy laws.
