Celebrating New Year’s with fireworks in Ferndale and in the County – What you need to know.

If you are planning to celebrate with pyrotechnics this year, be aware of the current local laws about discharging fireworks on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Setting off fireworks within Ferndale and in Whatcom County is legal from 6pm on December 31st until 1am on January 1st. This includes common consumer fireworks (aka Class C) but not firecrackers, skyrockets and missile-type rockets.

Our friends to the south in Bellingham are going on their third year of no fireworks allowed at any time of the year.

Whatcom County implemented stricter times for discharging fireworks around the 4th of July, but the times around New Year’s Eve and Day remained the same.
