A special meeting of the Whatcom County Council is scheduled for January 4th with the sole purpose of selecting an appointee.
Winds are expected to be southeasterly.
Initial reports from the scene were that the residence was fully involved when the first units arrived.
There have been 7 confirmed cases in WA and more across 5 other states to date.
The decision was due to unsafe road conditions as a result of snow and ice.
Power was restored to most by 7am according to PSE.
As of 6am, the snowfall was expected to continue across much of western Washington for another 3 to 4 hours.
