BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the 3200 block of Bennett Drive yesterday, December 29th, about 5pm due to a report of residential structure fire.

Approximate location of the fire

Initial reports from the scene were that the residence was fully involved when the first units arrived.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and the Whatcom County Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.

This sucks…this article is a bit weird, though…the unit was ‘involved’, but not engulfed? There was a deceased person at the residence but no injuries were reported?

Fully involved means fire in every part of the home whereas engulfed would mean the entire structure is fully ablaze… engulfed is one step worse than fully involved.. and there was a death and no injuries.. death wouldn’t be called an injury..
