The river level forecast have increasingly worsened as the event approaches.

According to WSDOT, the ramps remained open as of 3:45pm.
Officials said a high tide may have sped up impacts from river and surface water flooding in the area.
The closure is due to surface and river water flooding during heavy rains.
Traffic is being detoured around the closure via LaBounty Drive and Main Street.
Flooding similar to the Super Bowl flood of 2020 that left Sumas, Everson and Nooksack inundated by water and debris is possible.
While the current atmospheric river event is impacting areas to the south, another right behind it is expected to drive the Nooksack River to flood stage.
There will be a detour route through adjacent residential neighborhoods.
All will remain closed until they can be safely reopened in the spring.
