Alternate routes around the slide area are either closed or also reported to be impacted by water and/or debris over the roadway.

The closures are due to the dangers in getting to and from schools due to flooding.
The closure was announced about 1pm today, November 28th, as heavy rains caused surface and river water flooding.
The road was closed in both directions about 12:30pm.
But recent damage to levees and changes to the river channel continue to create uncertainty about what to expect as the river rises this time.
"Persistent rainfall will continue across Western Washington through today, yielding river and areal flooding, as well as the threat for landslides."
"There is uncertainty with how changes to the river channel and damages to the levee system may impact the flooding that results from this storm."
The call center is for those impacted by flooding who do not have internet access.
Support Officers are dispatched 24/7 by What-Comm 911 when there has been, or is likely to be, a fatality.
