FERNDALE, Wash. — A power outage left several Puget Sound Energy customers in Ferndale without power beginning about 11pm last night, Saturday, July 11th.
Little information is available this morning regarding the outage that began following, according to witnesses, a bright blue flash seen near the intersection of Washington and Main Streets.
According to unconfirmed radio transmissions, Ferndale Police reported the area around the Ferndale Police Station to be without power and they requested PSE respond to a blown transformer on Main Street between Washington Street and Douglas Road.
One reader contacted My Ferndale News reporting the traffic lights at 4th Avenue and Main Street were dark at the time of the outage.

Whatcom County Fire District 7 firefighters were dispatched about 11:10pm but were called off after police at the scene reported the transformer was not on fire. WCFD7 crews were dispatched again about 30 minutes later due to reports of sparking and down power lines but found neither upon arrival.
PSE said power was restored by about 12:30am Sunday to all impacted by the outage. A tree crew came out later to remove the downed limbs and tree debris.
