WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — According to the company’s website and social media pages, Birch Bay Waterslides will be closed for 2026. The brief announcement preceded an expected opening for the season.
The announcement came without further explanation.
The facility had been closed until June of 2025 following an incident in August of 2023 that left a patron with severe injuries and prematurely ended the season. The 2025 season appeared to pass without any significant incident.
By this time last year, season tickets were being sold.
