Saturday crash involving a law enforcement vehicle closes section of Enterprise Road

FERNDALE, Wash. — Washington State Patrol (WSP) are investigating a crash that occurred in the 7000 block of Enterprise Road about 4:15pm on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

According to WSP Trooper Kelsey Harding, a Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was involved in the crash. As a result, they were called in to investigate as a matter of procedure to avoid any appearance of conflicts of interest.

Harding said the WCSO employee was driving a Ford F150 pickup when it collided with a commercial vehicle. No one was identified as having life-threatening injuries. Harding did not have information as to the cause of the crash or if either driver was to blame.

The section of road between Grandview Road and Harksell Road was closed beginning about 4:30pm and continued to be as of 6pm while a WSP technician surveyed and recorded the scene.

As of 6pm, there was no estimate for reopening the road to traffic.
