Aid Responds for Near-drowning at VanderYacht Park

fire response - stock picAbout 2:30pm today, October 26th, aid was dispatched to VanderYacht Park for a report of a near-drowning of a 14-year-old girl in the Nooksack River.

According to Whatcom County Fire District 7 Assistant Chief Larry Hoffman by the time fire and aid arrived the girl was out of the water after three citizens had helped her out of the water. No details were provided as to why she was in the water to begin with.

She was transported to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.
