Aid and rescue units are beginning to clear from the scene by radio. This may indicate the road will be reopen soon, a relief for Sandy Point residents heading home since they have been waiting on the side of the road in their vehicles while the road remained closed.
Original Story
Aid and law enforcement were dispatched to a report of a vehicle in the ditch in the area of Slater Road and Lake Terrell before 10pm tonight.
People who reported being on the scene before aid arrived said a pickup truck was on its side in the ditch with its engine running. The vehicle appeared to have extensive front end damage and there was a question of where the driver and any occupants were.
Two hours later and there remains a significant aid and law enforcement presence and Slater Road is closed west of Lake Terrell Road.
