PSE reports power has been restored to those impacted by this outage.
87 Puget Sound Energy (PSE) customers have been without power on Lummi Island since before 10am today.
According to PSE, strong winds that have swept through the area today are not the cause. Instead, equipment failure is being blamed. Unable to reach the Lummi Island fire department during business hours to confirm but possibly related was an outside fire call they responded to at 9:40am in the 2800 block of N Nugent Road.
The area impacted is located at the northwest corner of the island, an area spared from widespread outages across the island the New Year’s Day windstorm.
As of 2:05pm, the estimate for restoring power is 6pm today.
