8 transported to the hospital after Everson crash

EVERSON, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 6:50pm on Sunday, September 17th, after a Lynden Police officer came upon a crash at the intersection of E Badger Road and Van Buren Road.

According to unconfirmed emergency services radio transmissions at the time, a vehicle with several passengers had rolled over and some passengers were entrapped.

According to a Washington State Patrol (WSP) press memo, a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 7 occupants was southbound on Van Buren Road and a 1991 Ford Explorer with a single occupant as eastbound on E Badger Road. The Jeep failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and was struck on the passenger side by the Ford. The Jeep rolled onto its roof. Both vehicles came to rest clear of the roadway.
