1.9M earthquake occurred under Ferndale

A minor earthquake was recorded under Ferndale (the one in Washington, not California) tonight.

According to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, the quake occurred about 9:21pm. It was measured as a magnitude 1.9 event and the epicenter was located 10 miles deep. The location of the epicenter was shown to be in the northeast corner of the I-5 and Main Street interchange.

A 1.9M quake at 10 miles depth is unlikely to be detected at the surface without sensitive instruments.
