The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the lowlands in western Washington today, October 30th, from 8am to 3pm.
A strong warm front is moving north across the region and with it southeast winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph. Winds are expected to diminish later this afternoon and into the night.
Given recent heavy rains have saturated the ground and trees are weakened from the very hot and dry summer, there is a greater chance for local power outages due to fallen trees and downed limbs.
UPDATE 9:30am
There have been reports of trees down in roadways and into power lines already in the area. Puget Sound Energy has responded to a few isolated incidents this morning with only a handful of PSE customers impacted.
