Vehicular homicide charges follow car vs pedestrian collision on E Axton Road that killed 1

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the intersection of E Axton Road and Silverado Drive due to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian injury collision about 11:05pm, Tuesday, May 3rd.

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) said via a press memo that a 37-year-old pedestrian had been walking in the eastbound lane of E Axton Road and was struck by an eastbound silver 2018 Subaru Legacy sedan.

The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the Subaru, identified as Kaycee Elaine Antila, age 24, of Bellingham, was arrested by WSP and booked into the Whatcom County Jail charged with suspicion of vehicular homicide while driving under the influence.
