Tuesday morning commute impacted through Bellingham due to soda cans

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 6:35am to the northbound lanes of I-5 south of State Street in Bellingham due to reports of a traffic hazard due to lots of garbage in the middle lane.

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced later that a large number of soda pop cans had been spilled across the roadway.

A Washington State Patrol trooper at the scene radioed from the scene that the vehicle that had lost its load had returned and was assisting with cleaning up. Bellingham Fire Department personnel were dispatched to also assist with clearing and collecting the debris.
