TRAFFIC ALERT: Roadwork and traffic impacts expected on I-5, Mt Baker Highway and more next week

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Officials with Washington State Department of Transportation and Whatcom County Public Works announced Friday, October 7th, that the following work and corresponding traffic impacts are scheduled for next week in Whatcom County.

I-5 at Meridian Street interchange

On Sunday, October 9th, from 9pm to 4pm the left lane of northbound I-5 and the northbound on-ramp at the Meridian Street interchange (SR539) will be closed for sign replacement.

From Monday, October 10th, through Friday, October 14th, from 7am to 5pm daily eastbound and westbound traffic on Mount Baker Highway (SR542) just west of Glacier Springs Drive will alternate through a single lane for utility work.

Wednesday, October 12th, from 6am to 4:30pm crews will fully close Mount Baker Highway (SR542) from milepost 47 to Artist Point to finish up pre-winter maintenance activities.

E Badger Road

From Monday, October 10th, through Friday, October 14th, from 8am to 4pm daily eastbound and westbound traffic on East Badger Road (SR546) from east of the the Guide Meridian (SR539) intersection to Double Ditch Road in Lynden will alternate through a single lane as crews wrap up work on the Pepin Creek and Duffner Ditch fish passage project.

Everson Goshen Road

**CANCELED** On Tuesday, October 11th, Whatcom County Public Works has scheduled mill (grinding) and fill (paving) roadwork on Everson Goshen Road from E Smith Road to E Pole Road (SR544). Drivers are advised to plan ahead and expect delays. Using alternate routes are recommended during the day.
