Ferndale Police were dispatched to a multi-vehicle crash on Main Street at intersection of the southbound I-5 off- and on-ramps about 3pm this afternoon.
According to radio dispatches from the scene, Whatcom County Fire District 7 personnel were later dispatched to assess potential injury victims and clean up hazardous fluids leaked as a result of the crash.
According to officials, there had been a rear-ender crash in the eastbound lanes. While they were onscene investigating, there was another rear-ender crash in the same area.
WCFD7 Division Chief Ben Boyko said they treated and released a couple people at the scene.
Emergency workers and tow trucks cleared the scene about 3:45pm.
