Not everything that happens in and around Ferndale ends up in a story. The daily “Ticker” is where you can find those items, answer the question, “why did I hear sirens?.”
- 4:30pm – A collision on I-5 northbound at the Nooksack River bridge between Portal Way and Main Street has traffic backed up to Slater Road. UPDATE 5:45pm – Traffic is beginning to move again. Backup reached Northwest Avenue at one point. Currently from Main Street to Slater Road.
- 4:30pm – Law enforcement, aid and rescue were dispatched to nearly the same location as the vehicle in the water this morning. Another vehicle has been spotted disabled in several feet of water with two people inside.
- 3:15pm – Law enforcement was on-site to search for an individual in a public storage facility on LaBounty Drive. After 45 minutes or more, they took the subject into custody. It was unknown why they were pursuing the subject.
