Update 4:15pm
The road closed signs have been removed on Slater Road and it has been reopen to traffic in both directions. Speed is reduced to 5mph east of the bridge where water continues to partially cover the roadway.
Update 3:15pm
Whatcom County Public Works has announced they will reopen Slater Road to traffic at 4pm today.
In addition, Ferndale Road south of Slater Road has reopened. But Marine Drive west of Ferndale Road remains closed.

Whatcom County Public Works forewarned when they closed Slater Road it would remain closed into Friday.
The photo below was taken about 1:30pm today. Reopening is dependent on flood water in nearby pasture land receding.
