Traffic Alert: Slater Road closure planned during Wednesday’s morning commute

FERNDALE, Wash. — Whatcom County Public Works officials announced they will close the section of Slater Road to all traffic between Ferndale Road and the railroad crossing on Wednesday, July 21st, between 6:30am to 10:30am for chip seal operations. 

A signed detour route will be in place during the closure. The closed section is the same area that is closed during flood events and the same detour route will be used.

Chip seal work has been progressing across several Ferndale area roads over the past weeks.

Including Slater Road, the following Ferndale are roads are expected to be impacted due to continued chip seal work Monday, July 19th, through Thursday, July 22nd, from 6am to 6pm.

Drivers are advised to relocate any vehicles parked in the right-of-way on the roads listed above before 6am on the days chip sealing is scheduled.
