Don’t be too surprised if you see a television production vehicle in downtown Ferndale on Monday. They are not in town covering breaking news. Instead they are scheduled to interview co-owners of a local business.

According to New Mexico Tamale Company Co-owner Tammy Look, a crew from Seattle-based KING Television is scheduled to visit their 3rd Avenue business Monday, March 4th. Look said in an email they will “do an interview with Dora and do some filming.” Look was referring to Co-owner Dora Ruiz. The interview is expected to be “about how weather effected small businesses” Look said.

Look said she had “no idea how they heard about or why they picked us.”

New Mexico Tamale Company is located at 5687 3rd Avenue.

So I believe in buying local. When I heard they were going out of business, I decided I needed to support them. I buy Trader Joe’s tamales regularly. So I got the 2 tamale plate. The refried beans were watery. The rice did not taste fresh, and both the chicken and veg tamales were awful. I love supporting local, but I won’t be going back.

I’m sorry- is this article looking for yelp food reviews??! Marlyse…you should review your Disney movies that I guess I thought most of us watched as children: if you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything at all.
Silence speaks volumes. Don’t like it? Don’t go. Every dollar is a vote.
