Rollover crash in Blaine on I-5 sends 1 to hospital

BLAINE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 10:20pm on Saturday, February 10th, to the median on I-5 south of the Peace Portal Drive overpass due to reports of a sing-vehicle rollover crash with 1 occupant in the vehicle.

Initial reports from the scene were that the vehicle was on its roof in the median of I-5.

First responder vehicles blocked the inside lanes in both directions while the driver was being extricated by personnel from North Whatcom Fire & Rescue.

The PulsePoint EMS dispatch log service reports at least 1 patient was transported from the crash site by ambulance.

The driver was placed in custody of the Washington State Patrol for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
