Rollover crash closes I-5 northbound lanes through Ferndale

FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 5:15pm, Monday, October 3rd, to the northbound lanes of I-5 at the Nooksack River bride north of the Main Street interchange due to a report of a rollover crash.

Initial reports from the scene were that multiple cars were involved and both lanes were blocked. As of 5:25pm, efforts were being made to open a path for traffic.

As of 5:40pm, the traffic backup extended south about 3 miles to the Slater Road interchange. As of 6pm, the traffic backup extended south about 4 miles almost to the W Bakerview Road interchange.

Both lanes were reopened about 6:35pm. By that time, the traffic backup extended south about 5 miles to the W Bakerview Road interchange.

According to the EMS dispatch log service, PulsePoint, at least 1 person was transported by ambulance from the scene to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.
