Power outages begin with stronger winds forecast to arrive later today

FERNDALE, Wash. — Puget Sound Energy is reporting over 500 of their customers are without power in the area of Vista Drive and Brown Road this morning, February 11th.

Law enforcement closed Vista Drive between Brown Road and Aldergrove Road shortly after 8am as a result of downed power lines, assumedly the cause of the power outage.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect through 10am Friday. The expected winds gust strength has been upgraded from 50mph to 55mph with an update this morning by National Weather Service forecasters.

Winds are expected peak around 1pm today and slowly subside into the evening.

A smaller outage was reported earlier this morning in the area of Lampman and Olson Roads that impacted 5 PSE customers. About 750 PSE customers were reported without power throughout the Puget Sound region at 8:30am.
