An open house is scheduled for tomorrow at the Washington Street firehouse in honor of retiring Fire Chief Gary Russell.
The public is invited to attend the open house from 1pm to 3pm at the Washington Street firehouse, 2020 Washington Street, to honor the Gary Russell on his retirement after 44 years of dedicated service with Whatcom County Fire District 7. There will be a ceremony at 2pm.
Russell will be retiring July 1st after 44 years of service with WCFD7, 30 of those years as fire chief. Assistant Fire Chief Larry Hoffman will assume the title of fire chief on July 1st.
