NWS issues Wind Advisory – gusts to 50mph expected

FERNDALE, Wash. — This afternoon, the National Weather Service (NWS) Seattle office issued a Wind Advisory from 10am to 7pm tomorrow, January 1st.

According to NWS’ alert, sustained southerly winds of 25 to 35mph with gusts to 50mph are expected in western Whatcom, Skagit and San Juan Counties.

With winds this strong, tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result according to the advisory statement.
