Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) said new stop signs on Grandview Road (aka State Route 548) at Kickerville Road effectively creating a 4-way stop intersection were put in place to aid trucks being detoured around the closed section of Slater Road.
WSDOT officials say the stop signs are temporary and will remain in place while the Slater Road truck detour passes through the intersection.
According to WSDOT officials today, Whatcom County expects additional truck traffic northbound on Kickerville Road. The 4-way stop will allow those trucks to turn safely onto Grandview Road. To help eastbound and westbound drivers on Grandview Road, Whatcom County crews added some flags and striping today to improve the visibility of the traffic revision.
