Riders can expect the Whatcom Chief to be in dry dock for maintenance for between two to three weeks. In the mean time, a passenger-only ferry will continue service between the Lummi Island and Gooseberry Point docks.

Whatcom County Public Works announced today the Whatcom Chief will be pulled from service for its annual maintenance from September 8th to about September 29th. It will be replaced with passenger-only service during that time.

Parking will be provided on the mainland side of the crossing and a shuttle van will provide service to/from the island side landing.

Visit the Whatcom County website’s ferry service page for more details.
