Harding did not have information regarding what led to the crash nor the extent of damage or injuries. Harding said a WSP collision technician surveyed the crash scene which led to the extended closure.
While the cause of the crash remains under investigation according to Harding, the 20-year-old driver of the BMW was booked into the Whatcom County Jail and charged with suspicion of driving under the influence and reckless driving.
