Lt Hatchett of the Ferndale Police told Discover Ferndale they were on campus to investigate a note found that contained a threat made to the school. No one person or persons were singled out in the note. Police were able to identify and interview the note writer and it was determined the note was a hoax.
According to information provided by the Ferndale School District, “At no time were students and staff in any danger.”
No information was provided about whether any charges would be filed.

Readers noticed three marked police cars and one or more unmarked police cars parked at different locations across the campus at Ferndale High School this morning, October 7th, around 10:45am. According to police radio, an investigation was being conducted but no further information at this time.
Students continued going about their regular business.
