3rd suspect in yesterday’s armed robbery captured

Multiple law enforcement agencies blocked roads leading to an area east of I-5 near Grandview Road earlier this afternoon, October 20th. Law enforcement personnel with rifles could be seen along the north side of I-5 just south of the Grandview interchange and also on Grandview Road. A US Customs and Border Protection helicopter was circling the area.

Traffic was being detoured and at one point both directions of I-5 were temporarily closed at points about a quarter-mile from the interchange.

At the scene, Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo told My Ferndale News they had located the third suspect from last night’s armed robbery of a Ferndale business.

A flashbang device could be heard going off in a wooded area just prior to law enforcement radio reports of the suspect coming out with “hands up.”
