Hovander Homestead Park significantly damaged during flooding

FERNDALE, Wash. — Whatcom County Parks & Recreation announced today, December 13th, that Hovander Homestead Park and adjacent Tennant Lake Interpretive Center were significantly damaged from recent flood events.

The park along with Tennant Lake Interpretive Center, Fragrance Garden, WDFW boat launch and park trails have been closed to the public since November 15th due to flooding. Since then, park staff have been assessing the damage and prioritizing cleanup and repairs.

Today’s announcement said the closures are expected to continue for several months due to the extent of the damage.
