WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — While the area is currently receiving brief relief from a long-lasting warm spell, forecasters say to expect unseasonably warm temperatures to return Thursday, August 8th.
Cooling is expected to provide relief from the warmer temperatures beginning on Saturday, August 10th.
In addition to the warmer temperatures, forecasters with the Seattle office of the National Weather Service say winds are expected to transition to more easterly in the upper elevations and northerly at the surface. This would increase the potential for smoke and haze to move into the area from wildfires in eastern Washington and British Columbia.

The above graphic of the smoke forecast shows some smoke entering Whatcom County beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, August 7th.
The following are the expected high temperatures across the next few days as of Tuesday, August 6th.
