Forecasters in the Seattle office of the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a High Wind Watch today, March 12th, that will be in effect from Friday afternoon, March 13th, through Saturday morning. Forecasters warn to expect sustained northeasterly winds from 35 to 45mph with gusts to 60mph.

The European Center computer model forecast (ECMWF) warns to expect the high winds to continue into Sunday.

In addition, low temperatures are expected to drop below freezing and into the high 20s Saturday morning and again Sunday morning. Temperatures are expected to drop close to freezing tomorrow morning.

There is a slight chance of rain and snow after 11pm tonight and up to a 50% chance of rain and/or snow tomorrow and tomorrow night. Little to no snow accumulation is expected.

The low temperatures combined with the high winds can be expected to result in single-digit wind chills.
