FERNDALE, Wash. — Today, October 28th, Ferndale Police released photos of 2 suspects captured on security cameras while appearing to attempt to break into the Sky High Pot Shop marijuana retail store in the 6100 block of Portal Way on 2 separate occasions Tuesday morning.
According to Ferndale Police, the suspects first attempted to kick in the door of the marijuana retail store at approximately about 12:50am Tuesday morning, October 27th. The suspects were not able to make entry but caused significant damage to the door and door frame according to police. A Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit searched the area unsuccessfully. The store owner was contacted and repaired the damaged door.
The suspects returned a few hours later at about 4:55am and again attempted to kick down the door to make entry. A Bellingham Police Department K9 unit searched the area unsuccessfully.
Police provided stills from the business’ video surveillance show the 2 suspects. One suspect was wearing what is thought to be “a muted Chicago Bulls hat and a Seattle Seahawks drawstring backpack,” according to police. He was also wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a unique logo on the front. The other suspect was wearing a red drawstring backpack and a Nike Air fanny pack.
Anyone with any information that may identify either of these suspects is asked to contact Ferndale Police Officer Brown at (360) 483-5731 or via email at sbrown@ferndalepd.org.
These attempted burglaries occurred a week after Cult Cannabis Co., another Portal Way marijuana retail business, was the victim of an arm robbery.
