E Badger Road (SR546) to be closed overnight for 4 days

LYNDEN, Wash. — Both directions of E Badger Road (SR546), will close for 4 nights starting September 13, 2026, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).

The roadway will close in both directions about 8pm each night and reopen about 6am the following morning, according to WSDOT. The closures will occur in the following locations:

  • between Van Buren Road and Nooksack Road (SR9) from milepost 7 to milepost 8 on Sunday night, September 13, 2026
  • between Northwood Road and Trapline Road from milepost 3 to milepost 6 on Monday night, September 14, 2026
  • between Northwood Road and Trapline Road from milepost 3 to milepost 6 on Tuesday night, September 15, 2026
  • between Trapline Road and Van Buren Road from milepost 6 to milepost 7 on Wednesday night, September 16, 2026

Detour routes with signs will be in place for each section, according to WSDOT. Freight traffic traveling on eastbound SR 546 is directed to use southbound SR 9 during the closures. Residents will have access to properties located along the closed sections.

WSDOT crews will remove asphalt along the centerline and within the lanes to place a layer of new asphalt.

The scheduled work depends on weather conditions and can be rescheduled, according to WSDOT.
