Cloud cover forecast for viewing the eclipse

National Weather Service Seattle's cloud cover forecast as of 5:15am for 10am August 21, 2017 between 10am and 11am.

Skies in our area should provide for optimum solar eclipse viewing this morning according to forecasters. Areas to the south appear to be not as fortunate (see forecast graphic).

The next total eclipses viewable in North America will occur April 8th, 2024, August 23rd, 2044 and August 12th, 2045. There will also be annular (yellow) eclipses on October 14, 2023 and June 11, 2048.
