City grants available for social service & economic development projects in 2021

FERNDALE, Wash. — The City of Ferndale announced applications are being accepted for the annual Organizational Grant Program.

The Organizational Grant Program was created by a City Council resolution in 2012 and provides monies from the city’s general fund to selected human services and economic development organizations that enhance the quality of life for homeless, low-income or senior residents or that promote economic development within the city.

Applications are being accepted up until July 31st for grants to be awarded in 2021 according to city staff. Click the following link or button to download the application form with additional details.

Grants are awarded based on merit and there is no specific funding limit according to city staff.

There was a total of $30,000 in grants awarded in 2019 and the $35,170 in grants awarded in 2020 were as follows.

  • Ferndale Senior Center $8,000 (awarded separately)
  • Ferndale Food Bank $10,000
  • DVSAS $3,500
  • Domestic Violence Commission: $5,000
  • Ferndale Community Service Coop: $4,670
  • Teen Court: $4,000

Applications will be reviewed and final decisions regarding approval and funding amounts made by the Ferndale City Council.
