Last month, Ferndale Police asked the community for assistance in identifying two suspects in an armed robbery that occurred at the Super 8 Motel on Barrett Road in Ferndale. This week, police arrested and booked two people into the Whatcom County Jail on warrants related to the January 14th incident. The two were charged with robbery and burglary according to court documents.
According to police, the suspects had forced entry into a hotel room and held the occupants with bear spray and a firearm. After a few minutes in the room collecting the items they wanted, the suspects fled in a black vehicle of unknown make or model.
Ferndale Police with assistance from Lummi Police and Whatcom County Sheriffs Office arrested Riley T. Casimir, age 30, and Joshua O. Studer, age 25. Casimir was taken into custody in the 3200 block of Balch Road. Studer was taken into custody after attempting to flee from a house in the 6400 block of Portal Manor Drive.
According to court records, both have extensive histories as defendants in Ferndale Municipal and Whatcom County District and Superior Courts.
