WSDOT traffic cameras offline – break in fiber line suspected

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Officials with Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) say they are investigating why all Whatcom County traffic cameras stopped updating at 12:47pm yesterday, June 28th.

A crew from WSDOT’s Operations office in Olympia arrived in Whatcom County this morning to investigate what was being identified as a network outage. The fiber provider is working with WSDOT to identify the location of a break in the line so that service can be restored, WSDOT Communications Consultant RB McKeon said in an email to Whatcom News.
