WSDOT: North Cascades Highway (SR20) closed for the season

Officials with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced today, Monday, November 18th, that the North Cascade Highway (SR20) is closed for the season. The road was closed over the weekend to expected heavy snowfall.

As of Nov. 18, SR 20 North Cascades Highway is closed for the season between Ross Dam trailhead (milepost 134) on the west side and Silver Star gate on the east side (milepost 171) due to adverse conditions and avalanche risk.

In addition, Cayuse (SR123) and Chinook Passes (SR410) are also closed for the season.

All will remain closed until they can be safely reopened in the spring.
