Winter weather advisory though Friday due to snow forecast for highest elevations in Whatcom County

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — The Seattle office of the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory on Thursday, November 6, 2025, due to expected high elevation snowfall through 10am on Friday.

Winter Storm Warning issued November 6 at 4:04AM PST until November 7 at 10:00AM PST by NWS Seattle WA

* WHAT…Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 8 to 12 inches along Highway 20 west of Washington Pass. Additional snow accumulations of 12 to 24 inches are possible on Mount Baker.

* WHERE…Cascades of Whatcom and Skagit Counties.

* WHEN…Until 10 AM PST Friday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The highest elevations within the Cascades of Whatcom and Skagit counties could receive nearly 3 feet of snow through Friday morning.

Instructions
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.
