Wind advisory issued for western Whatcom County

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — After issuing a wind advisory for coastal areas earlier today, Sunday, December 24th, the Seattle office of the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a wind advisory for the western Whatcom and Skagit County regions.

The advisory warns of southeasterly sustained winds of 30 to 40mph with gusts up to 50mph expected.

The advisory period is from 10am on Monday, December 25th, to 4am on Tuesday, December 26th.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. National Weather Service (December 24, 2023)
