What’s open and closed on Veterans Day

Monday, November 12th, is being observed as Veterans Day, a US federal holiday since the official date, November 11th, falls on a Sunday. As a result, many government offices, services and businesses will not be open or operating on Monday.

Ferndale schools: Closed Monday
City Offices and Ferndale Police station: Closed Monday
County, State and Federal offices and courts: Closed Monday
Post office: Closed with no mail delivery on Monday
Ferndale Public Library: Closed Monday
Banks and credit unions: Some may be closed on Monday – call to confirm
Whatcom Transportation Authority (WTA): Full service Monday
Ferndale Senior Activity Center: Closed Monday
YMCA Ferndale location: Open Monday

Sanitary Service Company (SSC) garbage and recycling pick up routes will be serviced on their regular schedule.

On Sunday, November 11th, beginning at 2pm, American Legion Kulshan Post #154 and City of Ferndale staff are hosting a Veterans Day ceremony to pay tribute to those who have served. The ceremony will commemorate the end of World War I and the 100th anniversary of the formation of the American Legion.
